Job Details
Reporting to the Director, Asset Management & Capital Planning, the Manager, Water Resource Systems, provides leadership and strategic direction in the management of the City’s stormwater, sanitary and natural infrastructure systems. This role leads complex studies, infrastructure planning initiatives, environmental assessments, watershed planning and climate adaptation projects that support sustainable growth and long-term infrastructure planning across the corporation.
The successful candidate will oversee the Water Resource Systems team — a small but mighty group of dedicated professionals — while managing consultant-led projects, providing technical expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders, and collaborating with regulatory agencies, Indigenous communities, consultants and the public on matters related to water resources, flood reduction and municipal infrastructure planning.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading Environmental Assessments, watershed studies, master plans and climate adaptation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of stormwater, sanitary and natural infrastructure systems.
- Knowledge of relevant municipal, environmental and planning legislation.
- Experience with infrastructure asset management, capital planning and sustainable development principles.
- Proficiency with GIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
Leadership & Communications
- Proven leadership and project management experience, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with staff, agencies, consultants, Indigenous communities and the public.
Salary
Classification for this position: Non-Union Job Class 7
Salary Range: $145,121 - $158,627
