Job Details
The Cultural Content Creator will support the development of engaging digital content that showcases the City of Peterborough’s public art program, cultural initiatives, and community events. This role focuses on creating and organizing visual and written content for public-facing platforms, including the City’s website and digital channels. Working closely with Cultural Services staff, the position will contribute to storytelling, documentation, and promotion of arts and culture activities, helping to enhance visibility, accessibility, and community engagement across the sector.
Duties
- Develop engaging digital content showcasing public art, cultural initiatives, and community events
- Support updates and enhancements to the City’s public-facing web pages related to culture and events
- Document public art installations and events through photography and video
- Edit and produce short-form digital content for web and social media use
- Assist in organizing and maintaining digital assets, including images, videos, and project files
- Collaborate with staff to ensure content aligns with City branding and accessibility standards
- Research and highlight stories that reflect the diversity and identity of Peterborough’s cultural community
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in digital media, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, etc.) or similar tools
- Strong visual storytelling and content creation skills
- Familiarity with web content management systems (CMS) is an asset
- Understanding of accessibility and inclusive communication practices
- Interest in public art, culture, and community engagement
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Hourly Rate
$24.00
