Wet sport fields

Sport fields in the City are saturated due to recent rainfall and seasonal thaw. Please stay off all natural sport fields until further notice to avoid damage.


City 2020 Budget process - Ward meetings and pubic survey

City Council is hosting a series of Ward meetings and drop-in sessions to meet with residents, share information about the 2020 Budget process and get feedback on the community's priorities. The 2020 Budget Survey is available online and at City Hall.


Peterborough Renovates Program

Applications for the Peterborough Renovates Program is available. The program is administered in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity to help people make critical repairs so they can stay in their own homes.


New direction for tree preservation

To monitor and protect the tree canopy in the City, the City of Peterborough now requires 72 hours notice before a resident removes a tree on private property. The notification form is available online or at City Hall. Permits are no longer required.

Large Article Collection April 29, 2019 The City of Peterborough Waste Management Division will hold 6 large article collection events in 2019. The first collection takes place on Monday, April 29, 2019. Book online or in person at City Hall or the Public Works Office by Thursday, April 25, 2019.
Lecture on Peterborough’s architectural heritage – April 26, 2019 The Peterborough Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee will host historian Andrew Elliott, who will be giving a lecture on Peterborough’s architectural heritage this Friday, April 26, 2019.
2019 Half Load Restrictions Commercial vehicles will be restricted to half loads on the following streets in the City of Peterborough from Friday, March 1, 2019 through until Tuesday, April 30, 2019 .
Temporary Bridge Closures The Maria Street swing bridge will be closed on April 30 and the McFarlane Street bridge will be closed on May 1 as Parks Canada completes bridge maintenance.
