Doors Open Peterborough 2026

The City of Peterborough is seeking community volunteers to support Doors Open Peterborough on Saturday, September 12, 2026. This popular annual event provides free public access to local buildings and sites of cultural, architectural, and heritage significance.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Volunteers will help:

• Welcome visitors at participating locations
• Provide event and site information
• Direct visitors and assist with general inquiries
• Support site representatives and help ensure a positive visitor experience

Requirements

Volunteers should be:

• Friendly, welcoming, and comfortable interacting with the public
• Reliable and able to attend their assigned shift
• Interested in Peterborough’s community, culture, and built heritage
• Able to follow instructions and work collaboratively with site representatives

No previous experience is required. Event information and instructions will be provided.
