Job Details

This temporary opportunity offers a unique and high-impact opportunity to advance City of Peterborough’s non-tax revenue generating priorities. The position will focus on strategic fundraising initiatives, including sponsorship and charitable donation programs that support the Riverview Park and Zoo. Working within the City’s Sponsorship Program, the position will work closely with the Riverview Park & Zoo Advisory Committee, and the City’s Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Services Division. The role supports identification, development, valuation, implementation and solicitation of sponsorship and fundraising initiatives while actively building and maintaining relationships with current corporate partners, donors, community organizations, and key stakeholders. The position will adhere to all requirements and direction outlined within the City of Peterborough’s relevant policy documents.

Qualifications

This position requires a post-secondary degree/diploma from a recognized college or university in a marketing or communications related discipline and a minimum of five (5) years of experience within the Sponsorship Industry, Fundraising Industry, Sales and Marketing industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in accounting and financial systems would be beneficial.


Must possess leadership and team building skills; must be highly organized and have the ability to define and prioritize the tasks within work functions in order to coordinate appropriately to meet time deadlines; the ability to effectively coach, motivate, and coordinate the work of others. Must have the ability to function in a computerized work environment including an intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of applications, and website content management. Ability to support and facilitate positive work relationships in a unionized environment and demonstrate excellent public and employee relations skills. The incumbent must have a creative/innovative focus on service delivery; a commitment to customer service and continuous improvement; a respect for the diversity of opinions, perspectives and ideas; and be comfortable with changing priorities and demands.

Hourly Rate

$61.83 - $64.65
