Help for Homeowners

Funding is limited to help homeowners afford repairs/upgrades and to help renters purchase a home.

Peterborough Renovates Program (PRP)

The Peterborough Renovates Program (PRP) provides a forgivable loan up to $25,000 for repairs such as roofing, plumbing, heating, foundations, wells, and septic systems. The forgivable loan can include a grant of up to $5,000 for modifications to reduce physical barriers such as ramps, handrails, bathroom accessibility, etc.

Repairs that may be eligible for the PRP include, but are not limited to:

•    accessibility upgrades - bathroom, entryway
•    health and safety - mold remediation, etc.
•    energy efficiency improvements - furnaces, windows
•    structural repairs - roofing, septic system

Eligible applications will be considered for funding on a priority basis considering both income and the type of repair/modification.

The Program ends when funding has been allocated.
