Tech Help and Support

Technology is everywhere, and it is developing faster than ever, which can make it hard to keep up.  There are a number of places in our region where people can go to get some help with their cell phone, laptop, desktop, tablet or other device.  There are also a number of courses and workshops that offer skills upgrading and training so that people can feel more comfortable navigating the digital world. One on one help Available

Most local public libraries offer 1:1 help to residents, and there are some organizations locally that also offer assistance with technology. Affordable Technology

Laptops & Desktop Computers

Reboot Canada has a reSTART program where the offer refurbished models at lower prices to those on fixed incomes like OAS.  There is an application process. For more information, please visit their website by clicking on the link below OR you can contact the local office by calling 705-749-5815.

Cell Phones and Cell Phone Plans

Some providers offer low-cost wireless service and can also access free or low-cost pre-owned certified devices to those seniors who meet income eligibility requirements.  Click the links below for further details.
