Sports Fields and Courts

The City of Peterborough offers a huge selection of sports fields and courts for both recreational and competitive sports.  These can be reserved by submitting a sport field and tournament request form. Courts can also be used for casual use on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Sports fields

A total of 82 rectangular and diamond fields are available for league play and tournaments. The regular turf fields are available from May 1 to October 31 each year (weather permitting). Artificial turf fields are available April 1 to December 1 (weather permitting).

Baseball diamonds

 Premier

 East City Bowl – 325 Burnham St.

Premier level, adult size diamond. Used for baseball and softball. Features a grandstand, benches for players, scoreboard, lights and announcers booth. The park also has a junior and senior play area with accessibility features. Parking and washrooms (Lions Club building) available.

Kinsmen Park – 1 Kinsmen Way

Premier level, adult size diamond. Used for slo-pitch/softball. Features lights, bleachers, splash pad, parking and portable washroom (also available in Arena).

Riverside Park – 325 Burnham St.

Premier level, adult size baseball diamond. Features a scoreboard, outfield wooden wall, pitchers pen, batters box, lights, warning track, parking and washrooms (Lions Club building).

Peterborough City Baseball Field at Trent – 2450 Pioneer Rd.

Premier level, adult size baseball diamond. Features a clay pitchers mound, warning track, lights, parking and portable washrooms.

 Level A

 Bowers Park – 765 Brealey Dr.

Level A, four adult size diamonds. Used for slo-pitch, softball and baseball. Park also features spectator bleachers, lights, canteen building, playground structure, parking and washrooms.

Milroy Park (Fisher Diamond) - 242 Milroy Dr.

Level A, youth size baseball diamond. The park also features two adult soccer fields and bleachers. Parking and portable washrooms are available.

 Barnardo – 955 Barnardo Ave.

Level B, youth size softball diamond. Park also features a splash pad, playground structure, basketball court, tennis courts and parking.

Bonnerworth – 560 McDonnel St. 

Level B, two adult size ball diamonds. Used for baseball and slo-pitch. Park also features a skateboard park, four tennis courts, parking and washroom facilities.

Brinton Carpet – 160 Braidwood Ave.

Level B, adult/youth size ball diamond. Used for slo-pitch and softball. Features bleachers and benches for players, street parking and portable washrooms.

Morrow Park – 171 Lansdowne St.

Level B, four adult size slo-pitch diamonds. Features bleachers, benches for players, parking and portable washrooms.

Northland – 1255 Bathurst St.

Level B, youth size softball diamond. The park also features a playground structure, tennis court, basketball court and an outdoor rink.

Rube Brady (Ashburnham) – 211 Munroe Ave.

Level B, adult size diamond. Used for slo-pitch and softball. Features a children's accessible play structure and a basketball court. Also located in the park is the Peterborough Museum and Archives and the Heritage pavilion. Parking and accessible portable washrooms available during the summer months.

Stacey Green – 705 Hawley St.

Level B, adult size slo-pitch diamond. The park also features a playground structure, two tennis courts and an outdoor rink. 

Westclox – 310 Armour Rd.

Level B, adult size slo-pitch diamond, owned by Parks Canada.

Level C, youth size softball diamond. Park features a playground structure, basketball court and outdoor rink. Street parking available.
Knights of Columbus – 5 Park St.
Level C, youth size softball diamond. Features a wading pool, junior and senior playground structure with accessibility enhancements, basketball court, pickleball courts, Legacy Bowl outdoor arena and parking. Portable washroom is available during the wading pool season.
Northcrest – 100 Marina Blvd.
Level C, youth size softball diamond. Street parking available.
Sherbrooke Woods - 1454 Sherbrooke St.
Level C, two youth softball diamonds and two basketball courts.
Turner Park – 673 Chamberlain St.
Level C, youth size softball diamond. Street parking available. Park also features a playground structure.

 Mark Forster – 2150 Ashburnham Dr.

Premier rectangular field. Dimensions: 225 feet by 345 feet. Eastgate park also has one Level A and two Level C rectangular fields. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee. Park features bleachers, canteen, lights, parking and washrooms.

 Trent Excalibur – 2450 Pioneer Rd.

Premier rectangular field. Dimensions: 70 metres by 100 metres. Full sized FIFA soccer field and international rugby field. Used for soccer, rugby, frisbee and lacrosse. Features uprights, night time lighting, player's benches, one set of spectator benches, parking and portable washrooms.

 King Edward Park – 455 George St.

Level A, rectangular field. Dimensions: 196 feet by 305 feet. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee, cross county and flag football. Park also features a splash pad, playground structure, four bocce ball courts and basketball court. Washrooms available.

 Hogan Field – 2150 Ashburnham Dr.

Level A, rectangular field. Dimensions: 196 feet x 316 feet. Eastgate Park also has one premiere and two Level C rectangular fields. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee. Park features bleachers, canteen, lights, parking and washrooms.

 Nicholls Oval – 725 Armour Rd.

Level A, rectangular field. Dimensions: 223 feet by 334 feet. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee, cross country and flag football. Park also features a splash pad, accessible playground structure, basketball court, pavilion, stages, trails, parking and washrooms.

Milroy – 242 Milroy Dr.

Level A, two rectangular fields and a cricket pitch. Dimensions: 210 feet by 345 feet of fields. Cricket wicket: 66 feet by 10 feet, Cricket pitch: 150 yards. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee, cross country and flag football. Parking and portable washrooms available.

 Beavermead Park – 2011 Ashburnham Dr.
Level B, six rectangular fields. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee, cross country and flag football. Park also features an accessible playground structure, beach, trails, six volleyball courts, pavilion, outdoor gym, parking and washroom facilities.

Level C, rectangular field. Dimensions: 150 feet x 295 feet. Used for soccer, lacrosse, frisbee. The park also features an adult ball diamond with lights and a splash pad. Parking and washrooms available.

 

Knights of Columbus – 5 Park St.

Level C, ball diamond. The parks also features pickleball courts, a basketball court, an outdoor arena used for hockey, ball hockey, field hockey and roller derby. There is also a playground structure with accessibility enhancements, and a wading pool. Parking and portable washrooms available.

TASS South – 1009 Armour Rd.

Dimensions: 64.8 metres by 120 metres. Used for football practices. Parking available.

 Wedgewood (St. Teresa's) – 1535 Fairmount Blvd.

Level C, two rectangular fields used for soccer. The park also features a junior and senior play area with accessible features. Seating and benches available in the park.

Dimensions: 65 yards by 110 yards. Used for soccer, football, rugby, field lacrosse, frisbee, field hockey.

Electronic scoreboard, track and field features, 8 lane track, bleacher seating, lights, washrooms and parking.

Fleming – College Field (Knights West) – 599 Brealey Dr.

Dimensions: 64 metres by 100 metres. Used for soccer, field lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, frisbee, football. Spectator seating, field house, scoreboard, lights, washrooms and parking.

Light fees

The cost for light fees is $25.42. Lights are available after 8 p.m. May to August (8:30 p.m. at Bowers Park), after 7 p.m. April to September and after 5 p.m. October to March. The following fields have lights available

Basketball courts

We have two premier basketball courts, located at the corner of Simcoe and Bethune streets. The dimensions of the courts are 46 feet by 75 feet.

This regional park features a basketball court, accessible playground structure and an adult ball diamond.  The Peterborough Museum and Archives and Heritage Pavilion are also located in the park. Accessible portable washrooms are available during the summer months. Parking available.

Barnardo Park – 955 Barnardo Ave.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, two tennis courts, youth ball diamond, playground and a splash pad (opened in 2018). Parking is available.

Bears Creek Common – 106 Marina Blvd.

This community park features a basketball court and playground structure.

Chelsea Gardens – 964 Southlawn Dr.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, tennis court, playground structure and a wading pool. Portable washrooms are available during the wading pool season.

Fairbairn & Poplar Park – 890 Fairbairn St.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, youth ball diamond, playground structure and an outdoor rink.

This community park features a basketball court, play structure and an outdoor rink.

James Stevenson Park – 325 Burnham St.

This  community park offers a basketball court, premier baseball diamonds with lights, bleachers and scoreboard, and a junior and senior play area with accessibility features. Parking and washrooms available (located in the Lions Centre).

Kawartha Heights Park – 2229 Kawartha Heights Blvd.

This community park features a basketball court, junior and senior playground structure and an outdoor rink.

King Edward Park – 455 George St. S.

This community park offers a basketball court, four bocce ball courts, adult soccer field, play structure, splash pad and an outdoor rink. Washrooms are available.

Kiwanis Park – 234 Middlefield Rd.

This neighbourhood park offers a basketball court, a fully accessible play structure, unstructured turfed play area and an outdoor rink.

This community park offers a basketball court, premier sport field, track, play structure, splash pad, pavilion, stage and walking trails.  Parking and washrooms available. Nicholls Oval is also home to the Peterborough Pagans Rugby Club.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, tennis court, youth ball diamond, playground structure and an outdoor rink.

Roper Park - 1610 Firwood Crst.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, tennis court and junior and senior play area.

This neighbourhood park features a basketball court, a junior and senior play area with accessibility features and an outdoor rink.

We have six beach volleyball courts in Beavermead Park.  Courts can be reserved or you can also drop by for casual use on a first-come, first-served basis.

We offer four regular-size tennis courts that are located in Bonnerworth Park at 550 McDonnel St. 

Please note that the courts may be unavailable during the day on weekdays due to use by primary and secondary schools.

Quaker Park Tennis Club is privately owned, they offer five clay tennis courts.

Features one tennis court available for Community use.

The park also has a junior and senior play area and basketball court.
