Train Operator - Summer Student

Job Details

The Train Operator student position involves ticket sales, operation of the miniature train and delivering presentations to the public regarding the Riverview Park & Zoo.  This position also provides occasional support with maintenance and horticulture duties.  This position requires week-end shifts. Shift rotations include 8 hour and 12 hour shifts.

Qualifications

Requires a student currently enrolled in a Post Secondary education program and who is returning to full time studies in Fall 2026.

Our ideal candidate has previous public speaking, customer service and cash handling experience and brings knowledge of Riverview Park & Zoo along with experience in gardening and weed removal and an excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications. They hold a valid G‑class driver’s license, can meet the physical demands of the role, and work independently with strong self‑motivation. The position also requires someone who is comfortable interacting with customers and maintains an excellent safety record. First Aid and CPR training are considered valuable assets.

Salary

$17.75/Hour
