Sampling Technician

Job Details

Collect and maintain the validity of samples throughout a variety of Peterborough’s waterway systems, landfills and the City’s wastewater treatment plant. Fulfill prompt delivery of samples to the laboratory, ensuring samples are analyzed in a timely manner. Assist in emergency response measures to environmental hazards. 

Qualifications

Knowledge and experience normally associated with a two-year Community College diploma in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry or similar discipline and up to two years previous and on-the-job experience. Requires good computer skills with accurate data entry skills. Must have a commitment to quality customer service and a high attention to detail. Must be able to multi-task with excellent time management skills. This position works in a lab environment with exposure to unpleasant and potentially dangerous odours and substances. A valid driver’s license is required to fulfil the duties of the position. 

Salary

$56,765.80 - $60,314.80
