Job Details
Reporting to the Service Area Manager, Recreation Events and Tourism, this role focuses on developing, collaborating and providing support to promoters, stakeholders, and community groups to promote quality tourism products, services, and experiences within the City of Peterborough. The Recreation Events, Sport and Tourism Coordinator, will support program efforts with research and experience, helping tenants and event promoters with event planning and implementation, and carrying out any relevant tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Requires an individual with a College Diploma in tourism, sport business management, recreation and leisure, event management, or business administration or related field. 2-3 years of related job experience, which includes event management with a preference on tourism activities. Requires excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to co-ordinate a large number of tasks at once and manage competing priorities. Experience with database software systems such as Xplor Recreation, AutoCAD, and Audience View is considered an asset. Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Flexibility regarding work schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.

$73,109.40
