Job Details

The Program Supervisor: Beaches is responsible for the service delivery of Beavermead Beach and all wading pools for the City of Peterborough including supervision of staff and volunteers, administration functions and aquatic programming. In addition, the Aquatic Program Supervisor is responsible to provide strong leadership, motivation, evaluation of staff performance, promote water safety, communicate effectively with the Program Coordinator of Aquatics & Skate and create a positive public image for the City of Peterborough waterfront and wading pools.

Key Responsibilities include:

  1. Opening and closing of all waterfront and wading pools.
  2. Assist with training and scheduling of staff.
  3. Supervise aquatic programming, seasonal program staff and volunteers as well as assist with swimming lessons and lifeguard where required.
  4. Ensure all relevant Health & safety regulations and best practices are adhered to.
  5. Monitor equipment and supplies as well as purchasing for operations while following the outlined budget.
  6. Effectively deal with customer inquiries and exhibit excellent customer service.
  7. Perform administration functions such as verifying payroll, daily & log checklists, incident reports.
  8. Organize and deliver water safety events.

Qualifications

This position requires current and valid certification for: National Lifeguard Waterfront (NL), Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor, Standard First Aid, CPR Level "C" and AED. The successful candidates will have exceptional customer service skills in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills. This position requires the ability to be flexible and problem solve providing leadership and direction to lifeguards. Directly working with the public and providing administrative functions.

This position will have flexible hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends

Salary

$21.42/Hour
