Project Delivery Specialist, Capital Projects

Position Description

The Project Coordinator supports the successful delivery of major capital construction projects by providing administrative, financial, and coordination support across all phases, from planning and implementation through commissioning and closeout. The role is responsible for tracking project progress, supporting procurement and financial procedures, managing documentation, and assisting with contract and warranty closeouts. It ensures compliance with internal protocols and funding requirements and contributes to sustainability tracking and operational readiness.

This position works across multi-disciplinary teams and serves as a central point of communication between internal departments, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders. It provides direct support to multiple Senior Project Managers across divisions, ensuring coordination efforts align with established project objectives. The role contributes to public engagement activities, prepares reports and presentations for senior leadership and funding partners, and maintains transparency through website updates and formal communications. Regular site visits and hands-on involvement with construction progress, operational handover, and warranty tracking are key components of the role.

Qualifications and Other Pertinent Details:

Requires post-secondary education in Engineering, Building Sciences, Architecture, or a related field. Membership in good standing with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), Association of Architectural Technologists of Ontario (AATO), or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be an asset.

Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience coordinating capital projects, ideally in a municipal setting. Must demonstrate knowledge of construction methods, technologies, and equipment, with the ability to read and interpret civil site plans, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings and specifications. Experience with sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes is preferred.

Construction Management or Administration training is an asset. Working knowledge of relevant legislation is required, including the Ontario Building Code, Construction Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Health Protection Act, CCDC documents, and standard consulting contracts.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Pro, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, SAP, SharePoint, and web content management systems is required. Strong skills in report writing, presentations, and data management are essential. Must be able to clearly interpret and communicate technical information in English.

The role requires sound judgment, discretion with confidential matters, and strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively is essential.

A valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required.

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours is expected.

Salary: $96,233 - $100,607
