FCM Board Election - Councillor Kevin Duguay
Peterborough City Councillor Kevin Duguay is seeking election to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors. With over 40 years of senior municipal experience in both the public and private sectors, Duguay offers a unique and comprehensive understanding of what makes communities thrive.
The FCM is the national voice of Canada’s local governments. At a time when that voice has never been more critical, Duguay is committed to strengthening advocacy efforts that advance priorities shared across the country—housing affordability, infrastructure investment, economic growth, community safety, homelessness, and climate resiliency.
In a career that has spanned both public and private sectors, Duguay has served in a variety of leadership roles, including positions as a Senior Planner, Land-Use Planner, and Parks and Recreation Director. He is also President of a successful planning firm that has supported land-use and development projects throughout Ontario. Now, as a City Councillor in Peterborough representing Otonabee Ward, he continues to advocate for solution-oriented, community-focused approaches to municipal challenges.
His national board experience includes serving with Water Polo Canada and a division of the Canadian Institute of Planners. Duguay is a trained facilitator, a recognized expert in accessibility planning and design, and a frequent speaker on municipal issues—including presentations delivered on the FCM stage.
A longtime community volunteer, his contributions include roles with the Ontario Winter Games, Canada Summer Games, Rotary Club of Peterborough, Five Counties Children’s Centre, and the Peterborough Girls Hockey Association.
Described by colleagues as collaborative, positive, and pragmatic, Duguay is ready to bring his proven leadership and dedication to the FCM Board. He is committed to representing the interests of local governments across Canada with integrity, knowledge, and passion.
Vote Duguay for the FCM Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in Ottawa this May.
