Temporary Coordinator, Talent Acquisition (up to 14 months, with a possibility of extension)

Job Details

The Coordinator, Talent Acquisition works under the day-to-day direction of People & Culture Advisors for recruitment-related tasks and reports administratively to the Manager, People Relations. The Coordinator, Talent Acquisition is responsible for full-cycle recruitment support all facets of the recruitment and selection process including sourcing, attracting, and selecting top talent to meet the City’s needs and working in collaboration with the People & Culture Advisors and hiring managers to understand their staffing requirements. 

Qualifications 

The role requires completion of a post-secondary program in Human Resources Management or a related field, or current enrollment in such a program with substantial coursework (typically 75% or more) completed. Practical experience in a human resources environment is essential, and an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation are required to meet the position’s variable scheduling and travel obligations.

Candidates should have two to three years of full-cycle recruitment experience, preferably in a unionized or public sector environment. Experience supporting recruitment in a municipal government or large, diverse organization is considered an asset. The role requires strong knowledge of employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act. Familiarity with collective agreements and inclusive hiring practices is essential.

Success in this role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external candidates. The Coordinator must be highly organized, able to manage multiple concurrent recruitments, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and other recruitment tools is essential. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism is critical.

Salary

$74,604- $81,556 per year
