Maintenance Operator - Water Treatment Plant (WTP)

Position Description
The Maintenance Operator WTP is responsible for maintenance and relief operation of our Class IV Water Treatment Plant including the Process Waste or other facilities as required. Working on a rotating shift, this full-time, permanent Maintenance Operator WTP position is responsible for monitoring and operating pumping stations, water storage facilities and remote operation of hydraulic electrical generating plants.
The Maintenance Operator WTP will also be required to perform various laboratory, maintenance, clerical, customer service and dispatches as required.
The Maintenance Operator WTP may also be required to be on standby.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a 2-year community college program or equivalent.
- Water Treatment Operator Class 2 Certificate of Competency (including successful passing of exams) under the Ministry of Ontario O. Reg 128/04 (Operator Licensing).
- Operator in Training Certificate of Competency in Wastewater Treatment, Wastewater Collection and Water Distribution is required.
- Experience in operating a Class 2, 3 or 4 surface Water Treatment plant is required.
- Valid Millwright certification considered an asset.
Hourly Wage
$34.98 - $41.83
