Elections Administrative Assistant (FT Temp - June 2025 - Nov 2026)

Job Details

Join our team and play a key role in supporting the delivery of the upcoming Municipal Election. As the Elections Administrative Assistant, you will provide essential administrative support and coordination to ensure the smooth execution of all election-related activities. This includes maintaining voter lists, organizing supplies and logistics, assisting with recruitment and training of temporary staff, and responding to public inquiries. You will support communications, assist with marketing for internet voting, and help manage records and data throughout the election process. Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Office or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clerical/administrative experience.
  • Experience in a municipal or election environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to:

o   Work independently.

o   Handle competing priorities.

o   Manage multiple demands effectively.

  • Proficient in using a range of office software and digital tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and internet-based applications.
  • Ability to learn and operate election-specific software, applications, and equipment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of:

o   The Municipal Elections Act.

o   The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).

o   Other applicable municipal and provincial legislation.

  • Must have access to reliable transportation.
  • Availability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays during peak election periods.

Salary

$36.39 per hour
