Job Details
Reporting to the Director, Strategic Communications and Service Peterborough, the Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and dissemination of information and strategies that contribute to service delivery, public education, public safety, community engagement and a high regard for the operational services delivered by the City of Peterborough. The Communications Specialist works with departments on developing, delivering and analyzing internal and external communication through dynamic content and clear, concise messaging to align with corporate priorities, issues management, and supporting business unit workplans. This position advises departments on public engagement and provide reports to support the data-driven approach to communications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or post-grad diploma in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline. Minimum five (5) years of experience in communications, public relations or related industry. Marketing and event coordination experience an asset. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is considered an asset. Microsoft Office 365 suite of programs experience is considered an asset. Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) foundations training would be considered an asset. Experience in municipal government is considered an asset.
Salary
$109,261-$119,429
