The PTBO H₂O drinking water station can provide municipal tap water at your summer event. The accessible mobile station has eight water fountains and eight water bottle refill stations. Event patrons can have a drink or fill up their water bottles with refreshing cold tap water.

Mobile water station rental rates

Peterborough Utilities operates the PTBO H2O mobile drinking water station as a community service to promote the value of our safe, reliable drinking water. However, in consideration of our rate paying water customers, we do charge fees to cover operating costs. Costs are as described in the chart below.

To Book the PTBO H2O

Events with an interest in booking the PTBO H2O Mobile Drinking Water Station are asked to submit their requests three weeks in advance of the date of the event. Be sure to review considerations before booking

Requests submitted less than three weeks prior to the event will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Use and maintenance

The PTBO H2O mobile drinking water station is maintained in accordance with its operational guidelines and public health regulations. During events, sanitation and cleaning procedures are followed by the City of Peterborough Water Services representatives trained to operate the PTBO H2O water station mobile drinking water station.

The PTBO H2O mobile drinking water station is equipped with taps and fountains that receive water using one of two methods; direct-connect of bulk-fill.

The PTBO H2O mobile drinking water station receives its water at the event from a ¾” water tap connected to the municipal water supply. Food grade hoses take water from the tap to the Mobile Drinking Water Station. Prior to hook up, the water source must be approved by City of Peterborough Water Services staff.

A direct connection to the municipal water supply provides continuous supply of water and lower booking fees, but placement of the station must be within 45 metres (150 feet) of a water supply connection.

For the bulk fill option, PTBO H2O mobile drinking water station arrives at the event with its 1,400-litre tank pre-filled with municipal tap water. Operating the mobile drinking water station with the bulk fill option means placement is not restricted by the location/proximity of a municipal water source connection, but this setup has a higher booking fee for bulk water fill and it is limited to 1,400 litres of water.
