Meet the Guard!
Meet Lynn, who handles the intersection of Lansdowne and Spillsbury/Kawartha Heights.

Now heading into her 20th year, Lynn is a veteran crossing guard and full of energy at what happens to be one of the busiest school crossing in the city. Over her years at Kawartha Heights PS, she’s watched generations grow up: the children she once helped across the street are now parents themselves and she’s still there to help their children cross.
That sense of connection is part of what makes her work so meaningful. Lynn values every letter, picture, and card the kids have ever given her over the past two decades. She knows each person she crosses by name and makes a note to get to know newcomers to her crossing.
Her message to drivers: Do your best to pay attention and follow the crossing guard’s instructions. Guards are there to help guide everyone!
When asked what’s changed most over the years, Lynn says the kids are just as wonderful as they’ve always been. But she’s proud of how the City of Peterborough Crossing Guard Program has grown in it's support for crossing guards, and how they show appreciation for the important role they play.
Thank you, Lynn, for your dedication, energy and unwavering presence in our community!
