Safety tips for Transit riders during COVID-19

  • It is mandatory to wear a face covering while on Peterborough Transit buses, following the current directive by Peterborough Public Health. It is important to understand that not all customers are able to wear a face covering. Transit will operate with respect and inclusion during these challenging times. Peterborough Public Health is providing guidance to the general public about mandatory face coverings, including information about exemptions and how to safely wear a face covering.
  • Drivers are monitoring the number of customers who board buses to reduce customer loads, promoting social distancing. The seats directly behind the drivers are not in service.

Customer Service

The customer service area at the Simcoe Street Bus Terminal is open for pass sales and inquiries only. The washrooms and waiting area are not available.

Riders are encouraged to check the City’s website regularly for changes that may impact travel planning. Peterborough Transit provides real-time service update on their Twitter feed @ptbo_transit. Please contact the customer service line at 705-745-0525 for transit-related questions.

Regular routes

Peterborough Transit's regular routes run every day and all buses on regular routes are fully accessible.

A transit map showing the regular routes is posted in all the transit shelters and at the Transit Terminal. Printed maps are available.  An interactive map that shows all the bus stops and shelters will be available online. A description for each new route is available in the "Turn-By-Turn" Word document.

We have three new community bus routes. Everyone can use the Community Bus. It is popular with people that normally use the Accessible Van Service or find using the regular bus difficult due to mobility constraints and other accessibility needs. You can transfer between the regular route and the community bus to get where you need to go.
