 Food Program Changes
Notice: some food programs are suspending services in response to COVID-19. As we receive updates from food programs we are updating our food page listings. Please call the program if you are not sure of their status.
 Food Support for Seniors

Food support for seniors: as an essential service, Community Care Peterborough continues to provide food support services for seniors including meal and grocery delivery. For more information please visit the Community Care website.

 Grocery Stores and Pharmacies

Grocery stores and pharmacies: many grocers and pharmacies have modified their hours and delivery services during COVID-19. Please contact stores directly for specific details.

Contact information, hours, and delivery status for local grocers and pharmacies can be found on our Grocery and pharmacy resources during COVID-19 page.

The City and County of Peterborough are home to a wide range of programs and services related to food. Most have the goal of addressing the inadequate access to healthy food of people with low incomes in our community. This is also known as “food insecurity”.

Food banks, free meals, cooking classes, community gardens, and workshops are available in the City and County of Peterborough. Food banks may have different requirements such as identification needed or the number of times you can visit each month. Please contact them directly or visit their website for details.

For a print ready list of free food in the region view the online food calendar or click the monthly food calendar links.
