Crossing Guards needed

Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Consider becoming a Crossing Guard of Peterborough and help make our community safer for Peterborough's school children. We are currently looking to expand our team! Applications are kept on file because we regularly need more crossing guards.

Posters and videos to support our Crossing Guards

The crossing guards help children to cross the road at some of our busiest intersections. They need all the support that they can get. Use our poster and video at your school to help spread the word about how to drive when a crossing guard is present. As a driver, read the poster so you know what to do when you see a crossing guard. The video teaches students how to cross the road with a crossing guard.

Active School Travel

The Crossing Guards of Peterborough are just one of the organizations supporting the walk or cycle to school. If your child(ren) are designated by Student Travel Services of Central Ontario to walk, please make your best effort to walk or cycle with your children until they are old enough to go on their own. If you must drive students to school, consider Park ‘n Stride where you park a couple of blocks from the school and walk the rest of the way. This keeps the school zone clear of vehicles, making it healthier and more inviting for students.

There are several Active School Travel programs that your school can participate in.
