Procurement Policy
Social Procurement
Every purchase has a social, economic, cultural and environmental impact. Social procurement is a way for the City of Peterborough to elevate this impact by leveraging existing procurement activities to achieve positive social value outcomes.
City Council voted on September 26, 2022 to update the City’s Procurement By-Law to include social procurement. The City of Peterborough has since started a three-year social procurement implementation strategy.
As part of this implementation, local businesses, social enterprises and diverse-owned businesses are invited to share their business information using the City's Social Procurement Vendor Registry online form.
