Three Pickleball Courts Closed at Bonnerworth Park due to Vandalism

Peterborough, ON – Three pickleball courts at Bonnerworth Park, including one of the accessible courts, will not open as scheduled on Friday, May 1 due to vandalism in the park.

Earlier this week, rocks and high-visibility-paint-filled balloons were thrown over the fence surrounding the pickleball courts at the park at 560 McDonnel St., resulting in damage to the playing surfaces on three of the 14 courts.

An estimation of the cost of repairs or the duration of the closures is not available at this time.

The vandalism has been reported to Peterborough Police Service. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers.

The remaining pickleball courts at Bonnerworth Park are set to open Friday, May 1 as scheduled.
