Riverview Park and Zoo Welcomes Visitors with Seasonal Hours Ahead of the May Long Weekend

Peterborough, ON - With warmer weather arriving and the May long weekend approaching, Riverview Park and Zoo is preparing to welcome visitors with updated seasonal operating hours and the opening of seasonal visitor services.

The Zoo will operate on the following summer season schedule from the Saturday of the May long weekend through Labour Day Monday: 

• Zoo: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily 
• Guest Services: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily 
• Hatch Coffee Shop: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) 
• Splash Pad: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily 
• Miniature Train Ride: Closed for track repairs. Expected to reopen in June. Operating hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., upon reopening. 

The playground and select park areas at Riverview Park and Zoo will remain accessible outside of the Zoo’s operating hours. 

This weekend, Guest Services, the Hatch Coffee Shop and the Splash Pad will all open for the season. Hatch Coffee Shop will also be open for the holiday Monday. 

Following Labour Day, Riverview Park and Zoo will transition to autumn operating hours.  

Autumn Hours: Tuesday after Labour Day to Thanksgiving Monday 

• Zoo: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., daily 
• Guest Services: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekends only 
• Hatch Coffee Shop: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weekends only 
• Splash Pad: Closed 
• Miniature Train Ride: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekends only

Winter Hours: Tuesday after Thanksgiving Monday to Friday before the May long weekend 

• Zoo: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., daily 
• Guest Services: Closed 
• Hatch Coffee Shop: Closed 
• Splash Pad: Closed 
• Miniature Train Ride: Closed
