Peterborough Visitor Centre at the Lift Lock Shifting to Shoulder Season Hours
Peterborough, ON - Following a successful first summer season, the Peterborough Visitor Centre at the Lift Lock will shift to shoulder season hours beginning October 13, 2026, following Thanksgiving and the end of the Trent-Severn Waterway navigation season.
Located at 353 Hunter St. E., the Peterborough Visitor Centre will be open Friday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. from October 16 to May 14, 2027. It will be closed on statutory holidays until Victoria Day.
The weekend schedule will continue to provide travel planning support for visitors and locals looking to plan weekend getaways, sports tournaments, and attend other events in the community.
Since opening under City operation in late June, the Visitor Centre has welcomed more than 10,000 visitors, and provided trip planning assistance and information about area attractions, experiences and dining.
The Visitor Centre is expected to return to seven-days-a-week service schedule once the Trent-Severn Waterway re-opens for navigation in 2027. Daily hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from May 15 to October 15.
Visitor information is available any time through the Peterborough Tourism website ptbotourism.ca, and inquiries can be made any time via email at hello@peterborough.ca, or by connecting with Peterborough Tourism on Facebook or Instagram.
