Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre to Remain Open During HVAC Upgrades
The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre is undergoing a construction project to upgrade the facility’s Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The project will begin on Friday, October 2, 2026 and work is expected to be completed by mid-December. Access to certain spaces will be limited on a rolling basis as the improvements are made.
A brief anticipated project timeline is included below.
October 2-23: Universal Changeroom Closed
The universal changeroom adjacent to the pool will be closed starting October 2 and will re-open on October 24. Men’s and women’s changerooms (adjacent to the pool and on the west side of the building) remain open, and will be temporarily available for users of all ages. The patient transfer lift is temporarily unavailable during this time; however, the water wheelchair and pool lift will continue to be in service.
October 24 - November 1: Fleming College Varsity Changerooms
Starting October 24, and in line with Fleming College’s schedule reading break, there will be work commencing in the Fleming changerooms and officials’ rooms. The changerooms will re-open on November 2.
November 9 - 29: Fitness Centre to Remain Open During Construction
From November 9 to 29, construction will commence on the fitness centre. Partial access to areas of the fitness centre not actively under construction will remain available.
November 29 – December 9: Women’s Changeroom Closed
The women’s changeroom adjacent to the pool will be closed starting November 29 and will re-open on December 10. During this period, users can access the universal changeroom or use the changerooms on the west side of the building.
Enhanced Temperature Regulation

Patience and understanding are appreciated. This work will allow for enhanced temperature regulation throughout the year. Staff and signage are there to help users navigate the facility during the construction.
