Taxiway Bravo Construction

Construction of the Taxiway Bravo extension project commenced on June 1, 2026 at Peterborough Airport.

The project includes the construction of an approximately 1,500-foot extension of Taxiway Bravo to the west. The western extent of the taxiway will include a holding bay designed to accommodate Code B aircraft, with wingspans up to 23.9 metres. The project will improve aircraft movement efficiency, improve capacity, and support future airside development.

During construction, pilots should expect temporary operational impacts, including changes to available runway length, declared distances, taxi routes, lighting availability, and access to portions of the airfield.

Construction Timeline: June to October 2026

Construction is expected to occur from June to October 2026. Throughout the construction period, the available length of Runway 09-27 will be reduced.

During this period, declared distances of Runway 09-27 will be further reduced to accommodate connection of the taxiway to the primary runway.

- Time: 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Runway 09-27 will be operational under normal configuration from Friday, July 10 at 6:31 p.m. to Monday, July 13 at 5:59 a.m.

During this period, the declared distances will be:

Runway 09-27 will be closed:

- Date: July 13, 2026
- Time: 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

At 10:01 a.m. on July 13th, the runway will be re-opened, the declared distances will be:

The shortened runway will remain in place until Monday, July 20th, at which point the runway will be closed, and reconfigured to the following declared distances:
