Parks Canada to Perform Maintenance on Hunter Street Lift Lock Tunnel

Peterborough, ON - Parks Canada will be performing maintenance on the Lift Lock Tunnel on Hunter St. E. on Monday, June 1. 

The tunnel will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. while Parks Canada works on the embankment immediately east of the tunnel. 

During the closure: 

• A signed detour route will be in place. 

• Traffic control personnel will be on-site to assist with the movement of emergency services vehicles, transit buses, and heavy trucks. 

• Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly.
