Digital ‘Peterborough Pass’ Creates Rewarding Ways for Visitors to Explore the City
From discovering local attractions to finding a favourite spot for coffee, visitors have a new way to explore Peterborough with the launch of the Peterborough Pass, a digital experience that connects visitors with local businesses, attractions and experiences across the city.
The Peterborough Pass features curated, self-guided stops that encourage visitors to get out and discover the city. Using their mobile devices, participants can check in at participating locations, collect points and access special offers and savings at local businesses. This is a pilot project led through Peterborough Tourism, the City’s destination marketing and tourism service delivery program.
Two ways to explore
The program features two ways to explore. The Peterborough Passport encourages people to visit participating locations and earn ‘badges’ along the way. These badges can be redeemed for Peterborough keepsakes, including bumper and water bottle stickers. These items can be picked up at the Visitor Centre at the Peterborough Lift Lock, Friday to Sunday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., or at the Chumleighs Box Office at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The Peterborough Savings Pass gives visitors access to special offers and deals at participating businesses. With more than 15 locations currently participating, it's an easy way to discover local shops, restaurants and attractions while enjoying added value along the way. With holiday shopping season approaching, the Savings Pass is a great way to discover unique local businesses, find gifts and take advantage of special offers while supporting local, small businesses.
New participating locations are being added regularly. The program will also include themed routes over the seasons with new curated ways to experience Peterborough.
New businesses welcome – and participation is free
Local tourism businesses interested in participating are encouraged to reach out to ptbotourism@peterborough.ca to learn more. Participation is free, and businesses can choose to be included as a points-earning stop in the Peterborough Passport, provide a special offer through the Savings Pass, or participate in both.
The Peterborough Pass is a pilot project running through Summer 2027, with opportunities to expand the number of participating businesses and introduce new themed routes as the program grows.
