Air Quality Notice - July 14, 2026

Peterborough, ON - Peterborough Fire Services is receiving calls from residents related to the smell of smoke in the City of Peterborough, which is currently experiencing air quality conditions due to smoke from forest fires in northern Ontario.

Peterborough Fire Services asks residents to call 9-1-1 if they see a fire.

Please keep emergency phone lines available for urgent situations by refraining from calling 9-1-1 or Peterborough Fire Services about the smell of smoke alone.

Environment Canada has posted advice related to outdoor activity during the air quality conditions due to forest fires in northern Ontario.
