Visit the Riverview Park and Zoo this Holiday Season

Peterborough, ON – Riverview Park and Zoo welcomes visitors this holiday season, where they can browse zoo-themed merchandise at the Gift Shop, support animals through the Adopt an Animal Program and enjoy warm drinks at the Hatch Coffee Shop. 

Gift Shop Holiday Hours 

The Gift Shop will be open on Friday, December 12 and Friday, December 19 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for holiday shopping. Visitors can find a wide selection of zoo-themed items, including stuffed animals, books, sweatshirts and other gift ideas. 

Hatch Coffee Shop 

Warm up this winter with a cozy drink from the Hatch Coffee Shop, located in the Zoo’s playground area. The cafe serves Bird-Friendly, Fairtrade organic coffee from Birds and Beans in fully compostable cups, along with baked treats and gluten-free options. The Hatch is open all winter on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 

Give the Gift of an Animal Adoption 

Riverview Park and Zoo’s Adopt an Animal Program allows supporters to directly help care for the Zoo’s animals. Adoption fees support specialized care, nutrition programs, enrichment and training activities, veterinary health services, research, and conservation initiatives. 

Each adoption package includes a high-quality photo of the adopted animal, an adoption certificate, a fact sheet about the species, and a personalized letter of thanks. A full list of animals available for adoption and associated donation amounts is available online.
