United Empire Loyalist Day: June 19, 2025

Mayor Leal has issued the following statement in recognition of United Empire Loyalist Day, June 19, 2025.

“On United Empire Loyalists Day, we honour the remarkable legacy of the Loyalists who laid the groundwork for so many of our communities, including Peterborough. Their courage, resilience and dedication to building a better life helped shape the democratic institutions and values we hold dear today. 

"The Loyalists brought with them a strong sense of civic responsibility and community spirit, principles that continue to guide us today. Peterborough is proud to recognize and celebrate their lasting impact on our city, our province and our country.”
