Temporary Road Closures for Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale (George Street North)

Peterborough, ON – A section of George Street between Brock and Simcoe streets will be closed on the second Saturday each month for the Downtown Business Improvement Area’s Second Saturday Sidewalk Sale.  

The road closure will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the following dates: June 14, July 12, August 8, and September 13.  

Intersections at Hunter Street and Simcoe Street will remain open for east- and westbound traffic.  

Motorists are asked to follow any posted signage, including barricades and “No Parking” signs. Enforcement will begin at 6 a.m. on the day of the event.  

Vehicles parked in prohibited locations will be subject to enforcement actions, which may include the issuance of a penalty notice, towing and impoundment of the vehicle, or a combination of these measures. 

Individuals whose vehicles are towed or impounded can call the City of Peterborough Municipal Law Enforcement and Security Services Division at 705-707-3969 on the following business day for information on the towing provider and impound yard location.
