Riverview Park and Zoo Train Ride to Close Early for the Season

Peterborough, ON – Enjoy a ride on the Riverview Park and Zoo Miniature Train daily until Monday, August 4, 2025, when it will close for the season to accommodate rehabilitation work on the Water Street Pumphouse and Dam. 

Visitors will be able to enjoy the Miniature Train through to the end of the August long weekend. The train operates daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  

The Water Street Dam is scheduled to undergo construction work to address concrete deterioration and improve infrastructure, ensuring the long-term functionality of the dam. Construction work is expected to begin this summer.  

The Miniature Train Ride crosses the dam during its route around the Zoo area. The train cannot safely cross the dam while it is under construction.  

The Miniature Train Ride will reopen to visitors during the long weekend in May 2026.
