Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride Week September 19–28

PETERBOROUGH, ON – The City of Peterborough will help launch Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride Week with a flag raising ceremony at City Hall, 500 George St. N., on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 12:15 p.m.   

Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride Week is a community-organized and supported week of activities that celebrate the diversity, resilience and strength of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities throughout the region.    

Running from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 28, Peterborough-Nogojiwanong Pride Week features several events that invite the community to come together in support of equity, inclusion and human rights. These events provide opportunities to listen, learn and amplify the voices of those advocating for safer and more inclusive spaces for all.  

“Pride Week is a time for celebration, reflection and continued action. We honour those who fought for change and continue to work toward a future where every person is welcomed, protected and celebrated for who they are,” said Mayor Jeff Leal.  

The annual Pride Parade takes place Saturday, September 27 beginning at 12:30 p.m. outside City Hall, 500 George St. N., followed by Pride in the Park at Millennium Park, 130 King St., from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.   

Other events at City facilities include:   

  • Pride Pickleball at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr., Friday, September 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cost is $5.25 plus tax. Space is limited. Email Rose at sportarainbow@gmail.com to register. 

  • Drag Queen Story Time with Betty Baker at the Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N., Saturday, September 27 at 10:15 a.m. The event is free to attend.  

  • Reframe PRIDE, Peterborough Public Library, Sunday, September 21, 345 Aylmer St. N., 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is pay-what-you-can at the door.
