Notice of Public Meeting - June 23, 2025
Take Notice that the City of Peterborough has received the following applications, and pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, c.P.13, the City of Peterborough General Committee will hold a Public Meeting in the Council Chambers, City Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025.
Applications:

Affected Lands: 250-258 Reid Street and 324 Sherbrooke Street
Owner / Applicant: Zeiler Segura Sokary Sanei Dentistry Professional Corporation and KDC Health Services Inc.

The applicant proposes an expansion to the existing Kawartha Dental Clinic by converting existing residential space to clinic and office uses. The proposed development includes revisions to parking areas and will maintain residential use on a portion of the property. A new Special District is proposed with site-specific regulations to allow the lands to be deemed as one lot for the purposes of determining compliance to the Zoning By-law, regardless of individual lot configuration.

The applicant proposes to amend the existing Special District by adding a provision that would allow the lands to be deemed as one lot for the purposes of determining compliance to the Zoning By-law, regardless of any future severance of land.

The applicant proposes to rezone the subject property to permit residential uses, community uses and neighbourhood supportive non-residential uses in the absence of any association with a college or university. The application does not propose any changes to zone regulations such as maximum height or minimum setbacks.

The applicant proposes to rezone the subject property to facilitate the development of a residential building having a height of up to 8 storeys or 30 metres. The concept plan proposes 219 student apartment units. The Zoning By-law amendment proposes a new definition for a student apartment building and site-specific zoning regulations relating to lot dimensions, building setbacks, maximum height, dwelling unit size, parking lot design and layout.
