New Exhibit Launches at the Art Gallery of Peterborough

Peterborough, ON – Members of the media are invited to the Art Gallery of Peterborough (AGP), 250 Crescent St., on Thursday, August 21 at 11:30 a.m. to meet settler artist and researcher, Micky Renders, and learn more about a new exhibition at the AGP.   

“Art + Waste in Panniqtuuq” includes work by Inuk artists Madeleine Aasivak Qumuataq, Jupa Ishulutak, Kawtysie Kakee, Annie Kilabuk (1932-2005), David Kilabuk, Talia Metuq, Oleepika Nashalik, and Malaya Pitsiulak, who have partnered with Renders, a Peterborough artist and resident, to bring awareness to the Arctic community and its waste crisis. 

These artists will be working with the AGP on a range of programs and opportunities, many travelling to the region from Panniqtuuq, Nunavut.  

Renders, along with Gallery Director, Celeste Scopelites, and AGP curator, Fynn Leitch, will be available Thursday to talk about the exhibit and the AGP’s upcoming fall programming.
