National Paramedic Services Week

Mayor Jeff Leal has released the following statement recognizing National Paramedic Services Week:

“Paramedics are often the first point of care during life’s most critical moments. They respond with professionalism and courage, whether it's in times of medical emergencies, disasters or urgent health crises. Their commitment to patient care, safety and community health is nothing short of heroic.

"This year’s theme for National Paramedic Services Week, "We care. For everyone," emphasizes the partnership between paramedic services and the community. It reminds us that supporting paramedics means recognizing their vital role and doing our part to stay informed and prepared.

"In Peterborough, our paramedics go above and beyond, providing not only emergency response but also community outreach, mental health support and innovative care programs that enhance quality of life for all residents.

"On behalf of the citizens of Peterborough, I would like to recognize the extraordinary dedication, skill and compassion of the paramedics who serve our community here in Peterborough and across the country.

"Thank you for all that you do—this week and every week.”
