City of Peterborough Celebrates the Launch of Project SEARCH

Peterborough, ON – Members of the media are invited to attend the official launch of Project SEARCH at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025 in the Friends of the Library Room at the Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N. 

Project SEARCH is an internationally recognized internship program that offers transition-to-work opportunities for high school students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Students involved with Project SEARCH participate in a unique, business-led employment preparation program which takes place at a workplace during the academic year. The program is a partnership between the City of Peterborough, the Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board and Fleming College’s  Muskoka-Kawarthas Employment Services 

Students involved in Project SEARCH, City officials and representatives from partnering groups will be available at the launch to share their stories and answer questions.
