May is Asian Heritage Month

Statement from Mayor Jeff Leal for Asian Heritage Month 

"Asian Heritage Month in Canada is a time to recognize and celebrate the rich history and invaluable contributions of Canadians of Asian descent.

"We are proud of the diversity that strengthens and enriches our community. The stories, traditions and achievements of Asian Canadians are woven into the very fabric Peterborough, from the arts and education to business, healthcare, public service and beyond. 

"On behalf of City Council and the residents of Peterborough, I extend our deepest appreciation to the Asian communities who call our city home. Thank you for your contributions, your leadership and your ongoing role in shaping a more dynamic, inclusive and compassionate Peterborough.”
