Equipment Upgrades May Increase Water Levels and Flows on Otonabee and Trent Rivers

The City of Peterborough would like to inform the public that from September 2 to September 22, 2025, Ontario Power Generation will conduct a series of equipment upgrades at the Auburn Generating Station.

This work may result in an increase in water levels and flow on the Otonabee and Trent rivers.

Residents are urged to use extreme caution as an increase in water levels and flow may produce dangerous undercurrents and rapidly shifting conditions. Residents should also ensure that all boats, floating docks, etc. are secure.

Water levels and flow should return to normal once the work is complete.
