City Services on Remembrance Day

Peterborough, ON - In observance of Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, many City services and facilities will be operating under holiday hours or will be closed.  

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 52 Peterborough will host the Remembrance Day Parade and Service at the Citizens' War Memorial in Confederation Square, 499 George St. N., on Tuesday, November 11 starting at 10 a.m.  

The City offers a variety of online services at peterborough.ca that are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  

Airport   

Peterborough Regional Airport will be open regular hours from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit peterborough.ca/airport for more information.   

Art Gallery of Peterborough    

Art Gallery of Peterborough, 250 Crescent St., will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. For information about gallery exhibitions and programs visit agp.on.ca.   

City Hall  

City Hall offices, including Service Peterborough, Building Services, the Clerk’s Office and Provincial Offences Office will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. Online services are available at peterborough.ca. Fine payments can be made online at peterborough.ca/POA.   

Parking Services    

Parking in City-operated parking garages, surface lots and on-street parking spaces is free on holidays. The Parking Services office, located in the King Street Parking Garage, 202 King St., will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. Visit peterborough.ca/parking for more information, including locations.   

Peterborough Museum and Archives    

The Peterborough Museum and Archives exhibitions and gift shop will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11. Information about current exhibitions is available online at peterborough.ca/museum.    

Peterborough Public Library    

The Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N., and the Miskin Law Community Complex branch, 271 Lansdowne St. W., will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. Information and digital resources are available online at ptbolibrary.ca.    

Public Works  

Public Works can be reached at 705-745-1386. This line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  

Recreation facilities and arenas    

The Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre at 775 Brealey Dr. and the Miskin Law Community Complex at 271 Lansdowne St. W. will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, with all programs running as scheduled. A moment of silence is observed in the facilities at 11 a.m.  

The Kinsmen Civic Centre and Healthy Planet Arena are open for rentals that have previously booked.  

Grant Thornton Box Office will open from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. The Peterborough Petes play at 7:05 p.m. Peterborough Memorial Centre doors will open at 6 p.m. for the game. Ticket sales are available online at memorialcentre.ca.   

The Facility Booking office and McDonnel Street Community Centre will be closed on Tuesday, November 11. 

Riverview Park and Zoo    

The Riverview Park and Zoo is open from 8:30 a.m. to dusk. Otter Enrichment takes place daily at 1:30 p.m. The Miniature Train is closed for the season. For more information visit riverviewparkandzoo.ca.  

Social Services     

Social Services office at 178 Charlotte St. will be closed on Tuesday, November 11.   

Emergency shelter services remain open: to access emergency shelter services outside of regular business hours or on holidays, please call the After-Hours Service at 705-926-0096.    

Municipal child care centres  

City-operated child care centres Pearson Day Care and Peterborough Day Care will be closed on Tuesday, November 11.  

Before and After School programs in schools will be open and operating normal hours on Tuesday, November 11.  

Transit    

Peterborough Transit will operate on a regular service schedule on Tuesday, November 11. Temporary detours may be in place on some routes during the rolling road closures between 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. while the Remembrance Day parade is underway.

Waste collection and facilities    

Curbside collection moves to Monday, November 10 for zones 1 and 2.  

The City/County Landfill at 1260 Bensfort Rd. will be open. 

The Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot at 400 Pido Rd. will be closed. The Hazardous and Electronic Waste Depot’s normal operating hours are Wednesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Water Services  

Water Services will be closed for in-person service on Tuesday, November 11. Customer service will be available by phone from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 705-742-7777 ext. 2650.
