“Sponsorship in the municipal world is so much more than generating non-tax revenue. It’s about building partnerships and finding innovative ways to connect local governments with businesses and other organizations and groups to enhance public spaces, create opportunities for residents, and build better communities.

“Our Quaker Foods City Square is a great example of a partnership that has enabled a beautiful gathering space for our community, with the farmer’s market and movie nights in the summer and  public skating in the winter. The City’s newest twin pad arena and library branch, at the Miskin Law Community Complex, was supported with over $1 million in sponsorship funding.

“These partnerships enable us to deliver better services to individuals and families in our City,” said Mayor Jeff Leal.

“I would like to sincerely thank our outstanding City of Peterborough sponsorship team, Scott Elliott, Corporate Sponsorship Program Manager and Chris Van Dusen, Sponsorship & Marketing Specialist. Their dedication is vital to the success of projects that benefit our entire community. This event focuses on building strong partnerships and finding innovative ways to connect local governments with businesses, organizations, and community groups. Together, we can enhance public spaces, create meaningful opportunities for residents, and build stronger, more vibrant communities,” said Richard Freymond, Commissioner, Finance & Corporate Support Services.
