In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the declaration of a State of Emergency for the City of Peterborough announced on Monday, March 23, 2020, the City is currently not accepting new planning applications where a pre-consultation meeting was yet to be held.

New pre-consultation applications may be submitted using the online form, however applications will be placed in a queue until such time meetings are able to be scheduled. Paper copies of documentation will be requested once a meeting has been scheduled.

A pre-consultation meeting with City Staff is required prior to the submission of a development application for:

  • Official Plan Amendment
  • Zoning By-Law Amendment
  • Site-Plan
  • Plan of Subdivision
  • Plan of Condominium.   

Pre-consultation meetings provide an opportunity for City Staff to:

  • Clarify the application process
  • Identify key issues and provide preliminary comment
  • Identify and confirm the necessary plans, supporting studies and any other information that would be required for a Complete Application when formal submission is made.
