Garbage and recycling collection services are moving slowly due to the current weather conditions. Collection will continue throughout the day, so please leave your garbage and recyclables at the curb.
If your recycling does not get collected by 7 p.m. this evening, please bring it back in. Recycling not collected today will be collected on Wednesday, February 13.
The winter weather can make collection of garbage and recyclables very challenging. Please make sure that your waste containers are visible, not buried in the snow or perched on top of a snow bank.
Recyclables can also be dropped off at the Recycling Depot at 390 Pido Road, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Power skating cancelled
Power Skating program scheduled for today at the Evinrude from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. is cancelled.
Parking
Parking is prohibited on all City streets from 2 a.m. – 6 a.m. to assist snow clearing operations. This enables us to more efficiently clear of city streets and equipment will not have to return to clear areas where vehicles were parked. The fine for a violation is $25.
Free overnight parking is available at all municipal parking lots, the King Street Parkade and the Simcoe Parking Garage. Drivers can obtain a gate ticket at the garages for a free transit trip home.
