Transportation Master Plan public survey open until January 15
Peterborough, ON - A survey on a draft City of Peterborough Transportation Master Plan vision statement remains open until Friday, January 15, 2021.
Through the survey, the City is seeking input on the draft vision and evaluation criteria that will form the foundation of the Transportation Master Plan, which will guide the long-range future of City-wide transportation. The survey is available online at www.ConnectPtbo.ca/moveptbo.
The goal of the vision statement is to reflect the community’s view of its transportation system in 20 years. Based on input to the Transportation Master Plan so far, the following Vision Statement has been drafted:
“Peterborough moves safely, sustainably, and reliably.”
“The transportation network for the City of Peterborough is safe, affordable, and reliable to support the health and well-being of our growing community. Our focus is to be efficient, innovative and responsive while embracing a more sustainable future to achieve our climate change objectives.”
Residents are encouraged to visit the Connect Peterborough site to register to receive updates on the Transportation Master Plan project. The site also provides an overview on input received during the first round of public engagement in September/October 2020, information on the next steps of the development of the plan, and “Frequently Asked Questions.”
Public consultation will play a key role in the development of new Transportation Master Plan. During each of the 5 phases of the project there will be opportunities for the project team to share information on the status of work completed to-date, and receive public input.
