Registered Programs

The Sport & Wellness Centre will be offering a variety of programs. Click on the area below to learn more about the available programs, updates to the program area, and important health and safety procedures for those programs.

Child and youth programs
We are excited to offer options for young participants to allow for a gradual start-up of our programs and services for school-aged children and youth.
  • Ninja Academy judo programming for various ages will return to the Centre beginning October 13!
  • Additional programs may be introduced in the coming weeks. Please visit our registration website regularly to see what programs we are offering.
Health and safety during child and youth programs
In addition to the Centre’s current health & safety measures, protocols will be followed to support child & youth programming:
  • Participants in child and youth registered or drop-in activities at the Centre will screen upon entry to the facility with their guardian, and it is recommended that your family arrive at the building ten to fifteen minutes prior to your program start to allow time for entry protocols.
  • School-aged child and youth participants will wear face masks according to facility protocols when transitioning to and from their program
  • Participants will be directed to wash their hands within their program space before starting their activities. Families are asked to visit the washroom prior to program entry if possible.
  • As overall facility numbers within the building are restricted, please attend your child(ren)’s program with limited family members wherever possible.
  • Specific details for programs may be shared with families prior to participant’s first classes or will be shared directly with guardians during the first class of the session, depending upon details specific to the activity, or as required.
Swim lessons
  • The Centre is offering a combination of private, trio and group lessons this fall.
  • A parent/guardian is required to be in the water to support their swimmers for the following levels: Parent & Tot 1, 2, 3, Preschool A, B, C, D, and E, and Swimmer 1. Preschool and Swimmer 1 levels will be available in Trio format only this session in support of aquatic centre bather loads.
  • We recommend getting your swimmer assessed for the proper level this fall. To book your free swim assessment with one of our skilled instructors, please call the Centre at 705-742-0050 during operating hours to book an appointment. Screening times are available daily.
Winter 2020 session participants

Participants from the Winter session may have a credit from missed sessions. Visit our How to Register page for steps on how to use this credit when registering online.

Due to the timing of the closure, progress reports from the winter session will not be available.

You can choose to register your swimmer back into the same level as before, or into the next level up. To see what level your children were in previously, log in to your online account and click on Transactions.

To ensure your swimmer is in the right level, we recommend getting them assessed by one of our skilled instructors before registration opens. Please call the Centre at 705-742-0050 during operating hours to book an appointment. Screening times are available daily.

Participants who do not have an active monthly or annually paid membership can register online on Sunday, October 4 beginning at 9 a.m.

Updates to private lessons

To maintain proper ratios in the aquatic centre, changes have been made to private lessons. Private lessons now include the levels you can register for during that time slot in the course name. For example, if you would like to register your child into a Private for Swimmer 2, look for courses called “Private – Preschool E, Swimmer 1 or 2”. Not all private lesson times can accommodate every level due to space availability in the pool.

Looking to add someone from your social circle into your private lesson? You can now register another swimmer of similar ability into the private! An option for this will appear when registering. The aquatic coordinator will then contact you for payment and to confirm the level of the second swimmer once you have completed registration into the private lesson. Please note, only certain levels can be paired together. These levels will follow the same combinations as our Trio Lessons.

Health and safety during swim lessons

In addition to the Centre’s current health & safety measures, protocols will be followed to support swim lessons:

  • The number of classes in each lesson block have been lowered and start times for classes have been staggered to allow for less users and greater physical distancing in the change rooms.
  • All users who are waiting for their class, or watching a lesson are required to wear face masks in the aquatic centre.
  • As per provincial and local health and safety regulations, instructors must keep 2m distance from all participants. For safety purposes, a parent or guardian is required to be in the water to support their swimmers for the following levels in private, trio and group settings: Parent & Tot 1, 2, and 3, Preschool A, B, C, D, and E, and Swimmer 1.
  • In accordance with provincial and local health regulations, the maximum capacity in the aquatic centre has been significantly lowered. Please refrain from bringing additional family members to lessons whenever possible. To maintain physical distancing on deck, some viewers may be asked to move to the viewing area in the lobby.
  • As face masks are required on deck and in the change rooms, please have them ready for your swimmers to wear once their class ends.
