Peterborough, ON - With the holiday season approaching, Peterborough Transit has updated its holiday service information at peterborough.ca/transit. Details on the holiday service changes, as well as updated timetables for this period, are available at peterborough.ca/transit.

Peterborough Transit holiday service changes are in place from Sunday, December 20, 2020 until Sunday, January 3, 2021. All routes have an earlier than normal end time on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. There are additional changes to Route 2 Chemong, Route 5 The Parkway, Route 6 Sherbrooke, Route 7 Lansdowne and Route 8 Monaghan throughout the holiday service period.

There will be no service on December 25, 2020 or January 1, 2021.

Extended New Year’s Eve service will not be offered this year with service for all routes on Thursday, December 31 ending by 7:15 p.m.

“Peterborough Transit will not be offering free service this New Year’s Eve as we want to reinforce the Public Health measures to discourage non-essential travel and large gatherings during the holiday season,” said Laurie Stratton, Peterborough Transit manager. “While we have put in measures to protect the health and safety of customers and employees, physical distancing remains a challenge on public transit. We encourage everyone to stay safe and healthy this holiday season.”

The City of Peterborough is currently in the Yellow “Protect” zone designation in the Province’s COVID-19 regulation framework. Peterborough Public Health is strongly encouraging people to limit social gatherings to only include members of their own household.
